JukeDJ

JukeDJ Terms of Use

Effective from 9 October 2026 · version 1.3 · replaces version 1.2 of 8 October 2026 (TV message and strip message added, section 5; Dedication and Big dedication clarified, including the refund of the difference for a big card that was not shown, section 4 point 9; the following sections renumbered). This is a translation; the Czech version prevails.

1. Operator and scope

  1. JukeDJ is operated by SINGLE CUBE s.r.o., Company ID 06731660, Bítovská 1222/32, 140 00 Prague 4, Czech Republic, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 287962, email support@jukedj.com (the “operator”). The operator is not registered for VAT.
  2. The JukeDJ service includes the mobile app, the website app.jukedj.com, the web app dj.jukedj.com, the venue screens portal signage.jukedj.com and the JukeDJ music box software (the “service”).
  3. These terms govern the operator's relationship with guests (sections 3 to 5 and, for social wall posts, section 10 point 7) and with DJs and venue operators (sections 6 to 10). Sections 2 and 11 to 14 apply to everyone.
  4. A guest accepts these terms by sending a request or a message for the venue's screens, paying or tipping. The author of an Instagram post accepts the social wall participation rules (section 10 point 7) by tagging, on the photo of the post, the account of a venue that has connected its own Instagram, or the @jukedj_official account and writing the night's code into the caption (section 10 point 1). A DJ accepts them on registration. Personal data processing is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. Nature of the service

  1. The service is a technical platform. Guests use it to send DJs requests, messages, ratings and payments, and to send venues messages to be shown on their screens. DJs and venues use it to manage events, the request queue and the screens.
  2. The operator does not play, sell or distribute music and does not choose what is played. The DJ or venue operator alone decides on the music and plays it at their own responsibility.
  3. Track search uses third-party music catalogues. Titles, artists and artwork belong to their owners. The operator is not responsible for their completeness or accuracy.
  4. Google Maps content. The service includes Google Maps features and content, in particular Google reviews on venue screens (the venue's rating and its public reviews from Google Maps). Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. For Google reviews, the following also applies:
    1. the venue picks its own place on Google Maps in the screens portal or in the app and is responsible for it being its own venue,
    2. reviews are shown as published by Google, labelled “Google Maps” and with a link to the review. The operator does not alter their content and is not responsible for their truthfulness. Reviews with contact details, profanity or an inappropriate author name are not shown at all,
    3. the venue must not copy, store or use Google Maps content from the service outside the service,
    4. Google Maps is a service of Google. The operator is not affiliated with, approved or endorsed by it and is not responsible for the availability of its services and interfaces. The operator may restrict or discontinue the feature at any time.
The processing of review authors' data is described in the Privacy Policy, section 3.4.

3. Guests

  1. Guests need no account. They join an event with a nickname and an event code, QR code or gift code.
  2. A request is a suggestion. The DJ is not obliged to play it and may decline or remove it. For paid requests, the refund rules in section 4 apply.
  3. Nicknames and messages must not be offensive, vulgar, discriminatory, threatening, harassing, promotional or otherwise unlawful, and must not infringe anyone's rights. The DJ and the operator may remove such content without compensation and prevent further use of the service. For the message of a Dedication or Big dedication, section 4 point 9 also applies; for a TV message and a strip message, section 5.
  4. The service is for people aged 16 and over. Younger people may use it only with the consent of a legal guardian.
  5. Photos a guest shares on Instagram to a venue's social wall are subject to the participation rules in section 10 point 7.

4. Paid requests and tips

  1. Price. For each event the DJ chooses whether requests are free, whether guests can pay for a priority request, or whether every request is paid. The DJ sets the price and currency. The guest sees the final price before paying.
  2. What the guest buys. A paid request buys a place in the DJ's queue, and for a priority request, a place ahead of standard requests. Priority requests are ordered by time of payment. The guest does not buy music or any right to use it.
  3. Who collects the payment. The operator collects the payment as the merchant in the Stripe payment system (Stripe Connect), in the name and on behalf of the DJ. The guest's card statement therefore shows the operator. Paying the operator settles the payment towards the DJ. The performance, queuing and playing the track or receiving the tip, is provided by the DJ. Payments are processed by Stripe. Neither the operator nor the DJ sees card details.
  4. Automatic refunds. The full amount is refunded automatically to the guest's payment method if the DJ:
    • declines the paid request,
    • does not play it within the time set for the event (1 to 240 minutes, 30 by default), or
    • does not play it because they ended or deleted the event.
Refunds are processed by Stripe and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days.
  5. Cancellation by the guest. If a guest cancels a request themselves, the payment is refunded only if the DJ has allowed it for the event. The guest sees this before cancelling.
  6. Tips are voluntary gifts to the DJ. They are not refunded, except for a payment made by mistake or without authorisation that the guest reports without undue delay.
  7. A gift code covers one request, can be used only once and only while valid, and cannot be exchanged for money.
  8. Right of withdrawal. A paid request is a service the DJ starts providing immediately after payment, because the request enters the queue at once. Before paying, the guest expressly requests that performance begin before the withdrawal period ends and acknowledges that, under Section 1837(a) of the Czech Civil Code, they cannot withdraw once the service has been fully provided. This does not affect the automatic refunds in point 4.
  9. Dedication and Big dedication (a request with a message on the screen). For a paid request, the venue may offer at a higher price:
    • a Dedication: the guest's message, which the DJ sees and which is shown with the guest's nickname as a dedication on the venue screen,
    • a Big dedication: in addition, a big card with the guest's nickname, the track and the message, which the venue screen shows when the track starts playing. A Big dedication always includes a message.
The venue sets the prices. The guest sees the total price of the request with a Dedication or Big dedication before paying. A Dedication and a Big dedication are offered only while a screen that can show them is running in the venue; otherwise the guest can send a request with a message under the normal request terms and the message is intended for the DJ only. The app shows the guest what is available before sending. If the venue offers a Dedication, a request with a message is always paid. The following also applies to the message and the big card:
    1. Message checks. The message is checked by automatic filters (contact details, vulgarities) as soon as it is sent, then by an automated assessment using artificial intelligence if the venue has JukeDJ Plus, and by the DJ.
    2. An inappropriate message is not shown, or its display is ended. Inappropriate messages include in particular messages that are insulting, vulgar, harassing, hateful or sexual, messages containing contact details or advertising, and messages that are otherwise unlawful. The guest is informed in the app. Instead of the message, the screen shows a neutral greeting with the guest's nickname (for example “{nickname} sends greetings to everyone here!”), without the content of the message. For a Big dedication, the big card is shown with this greeting instead of the message.
    3. The request remains valid. Hiding the message does not cancel the request, which continues under the normal rules. If the payment for the request is refunded under point 4, the full amount paid is refunded, including the Dedication or Big dedication surcharge.
    4. The message surcharge is not refunded when the message is hidden. The difference between the price of a request with a Dedication or Big dedication and the price of a request without them is not refunded if the message is not shown, or its display is ended, under letter b); letter f) is not affected. The guest agrees to this rule before paying. If an inappropriate message is detected before the payment is completed, the payment is not made and the guest pays nothing. The guest may then edit the message or send the request without it.
    5. Responsibility for the message. The guest is responsible for the content of the message. The message must comply with the rules in section 3 point 3. If the guest believes the message was hidden by mistake, they can contact us under point 10.
    6. A big card that is not shown. If no venue screen confirms that it showed the big card of a Big dedication (for example because the screen is not running, is switched off or lost its connection), we automatically refund the whole difference between the price of the Big dedication and the price of the request, also when the message was hidden under letter b). The request itself remains paid and continues to be governed by point 4. Refunds are processed by Stripe as in point 4.
  10. Complaints. If a guest believes a payment is wrong, they should email support@jukedj.com before disputing it with their bank. We resolve most cases faster by refunding.

5. TV message

  1. What the guest buys. A venue may offer to show a guest's message on its screens (“TV message”). The guest buys time on the screens: one showing of a card with the message (usually 15 seconds), or several showings during the night, as offered. The venue sets the price; the guest sees it before paying. The message has nothing to do with the music and does not queue any track.
  2. When the message is shown. The message is shown at the next free time. The venue sells only limited time, may limit the number of messages per guest per night and does not show messages during a quiz, game or poll. The estimated time in the app is not a binding promise of an exact minute.
  3. Content of the message. A message consists of a template, the names the guest fills in and, where offered, the guest's own text. Section 3 point 3 and section 4 point 9 letter b) apply to the content. The guest uses only first names or nicknames and is responsible for the people named agreeing to be shown. The price is never shown on the screen.
  4. Checks. Templates without own text are checked by automatic filters. Own text is in addition approved by the DJ or staff or, if the venue has JukeDJ Plus, by an automated assessment using artificial intelligence; if the artificial intelligence does not assess it, the DJ or staff approve it. The venue may offer templates without own text only.
  5. Refunds. We automatically refund the full amount if the message was not approved (rejected, or not approved within the time shown in the app). For every showing bought that does not take place (the screen is not running, the event ended, the showing was not confirmed) we refund its proportional part. If the venue takes the message off the screen after its first showing, we refund the proportional part for the showings that did not take place. Refunds are processed by Stripe as in section 4 point 4.
  6. Right of withdrawal. A TV message is a service the venue starts providing immediately after payment. Before paying, the guest expressly requests that performance begin and acknowledges that, under Section 1837(a) of the Czech Civil Code, they cannot withdraw once the service has been fully provided (all showings bought). This does not affect the refunds under point 5.
  7. Who collects the payment, and complaints. Section 4 points 3 and 10 apply accordingly to who collects the payment and to complaints.
  8. Strip message. A venue may also offer a shorter message shown only in a strip (bar) of the screen, alternating with the strip's other content; points 1 to 7 apply accordingly. A venue may offer a guest a number of free strip messages per night; such a message with own text is assessed only by an automated check (artificial intelligence), and a message that fails the check is not shown and counts towards the free messages. A free message that is not shown for another reason does not count towards the guest's free messages.

6. DJ accounts

  1. DJs create an account with email and password. Details must be accurate and current. The DJ must keep access details secure and is responsible for all activity on their account.
  2. The DJ declares that they use the service in the course of their business or other self-employed activity. Consumer protection provisions therefore do not apply to the DJ. If the DJ is nevertheless a consumer, they keep the rights the law grants them that cannot be excluded by contract.
  3. Subscription. DJ use of the service is paid by subscription. The DJ sees the current price and period before ordering. A new DJ is entitled once to a free 30-day trial. The subscription renews automatically until the DJ cancels it in the app (Stripe subscription management). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and a paid period is not refunded. Paid add-ons (for example Spotify) follow the same rules unless stated otherwise.
  4. Price changes. We announce subscription price changes at least 30 days in advance. The new price applies from the next period. A DJ who disagrees can cancel before it applies.
  5. The DJ grants the operator a free, non-exclusive right to display in the service the name, profile photo, event images and links the DJ has added, for as long as the account exists. The DJ is responsible for holding the necessary rights to them.

7. Guest payments and DJ payouts

  1. To receive payments the DJ sets up a Stripe Connect account and agrees to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Identity verification and payouts are handled by Stripe. The operator is not responsible if Stripe declines, suspends or closes the account.
  2. The DJ authorises the operator to collect guest payments through Stripe in the DJ's name and on the DJ's behalf, to refund them under sections 4 and 5 and to handle complaints about them.
  3. Fee. The operator keeps a fee of 15% of each guest payment received. The rest, less any Stripe fees, is transferred by Stripe to the DJ's account. When a payment is refunded to the guest, the fee is refunded too.
  4. Disputed payments. If a guest successfully disputes a payment with their bank (chargeback) because the DJ did not perform or breached these terms, the amount and dispute fees are borne by the DJ. The operator may deduct them from future payments or reverse the transfer from the DJ's account.
  5. On reasonable suspicion of fraud, abuse or breach of these terms, the operator may suspend payments for an event or a payout transfer until the matter is clarified.
  6. The DJ is responsible for providing what the guest paid for and for tax, accounting and other obligations arising from their income. Where the law requires it, the DJ issues receipts to guests for the DJ's performance.

8. Music, licences and Spotify

  1. Public performance licences. The DJ or venue operator is solely responsible for public performance of music. This includes in particular licences from collecting societies (OSA and Intergram in the Czech Republic, and equivalent organisations elsewhere) and compliance with the terms of the music services they use. The service operator does not perform music and neither obtains nor checks any such licences.
  2. Third-party services. Spotify, Spotify Connect, Spotify Soloist, Apple Music, TIDAL and VirtualDJ are services of other companies. The operator is not affiliated with, approved or endorsed by them and is not responsible for their availability, changes or discontinuation. The DJ or venue connects to them with their own account, in their own name and at their own responsibility.
  3. Spotify and the music box. A venue operator using the Spotify feature or the JukeDJ music box:
    1. uses their own Spotify account and their own Spotify Soloist developer key, which they created and manage themselves,
    2. has assessed and is responsible for ensuring that Spotify's terms (in particular its terms of use, developer terms and Spotify Soloist terms) permit their use, including use in premises open to guests,
    3. confirms the declaration on licences and Spotify terms in the app before enabling the feature. The service operator relies on this declaration and has no duty to verify it,
    4. is responsible for securing the box and the venue network, including preventing others on the same network from taking over playback.
  4. Suspension. The operator may restrict or end the Spotify or music box feature at any time with immediate effect, even without giving reasons, in particular if:
    • Spotify or another rights holder objects,
    • Spotify changes or discontinues its interface,
    • a breach of this section is suspected.
If the venue operator is not at fault, we will not charge the add-on fee for the time the feature is unavailable. No other claims arise.
  5. The music box and its software are provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that they will work continuously or with every device and network.

9. DJ and venue responsibility, indemnity

  1. DJs and venue operators must not abuse the service. In particular they must not circumvent payments, create fake requests or payments, compromise security, access the service with automated tools, or publish or otherwise use guests' data outside the service.
  2. A DJ or venue that uses guests' data outside the service becomes an independent data controller to that extent and is solely responsible for GDPR compliance.
  3. Indemnity. The DJ and venue operator will compensate the service operator for all loss and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from claims raised against the operator by:
    • Spotify or other music services,
    • collecting societies or holders of copyright and related rights,
    • guests,
    • public authorities,
    • Meta, authors of Instagram posts and people shown in them.
This applies where the claim arises from music performed by the DJ or venue, from a breach of third-party service terms, from a breach of sections 7 to 10, from content the DJ added to the service, from a post the venue approved for display, or from the performance the guest paid for. The operator will inform the DJ or venue of such a claim without undue delay and allow them to take part in the defence.

10. Social wall (Instagram posts)

  1. What it is. The social wall shows on the venue's screens photos from public Instagram posts. A post enters the wall in one of two ways: a) if the venue has connected its own Instagram account, the author tags the venue's account on the photo and no code is needed; b) if the venue has not connected its own account, the author tags the @jukedj_official account on the photo and writes the night's code, shown on the venue's screens, into the caption. Mentions in captions and Stories are not read, only tags on the photo. A post is shown only after the venue approves it by hand. This section applies to a venue from the moment it turns the social wall on or connects its account. The operator may offer the feature to selected venues only.
  2. Connecting an account. A venue may connect only an Instagram account and a Facebook Page that it owns or that their owner has authorised it to use. It connects them by signing in with Facebook (Meta) and can disconnect them at any time in the signage.jukedj.com portal or in the JukeDJ app. On disconnection the operator immediately deletes the access tokens and all posts retrieved through that account including images and, where possible, revokes the app's permissions at Meta. The operator stores the access tokens encrypted and the venue has no access to them.
  3. Approval and responsibility for content. The operator does not review posts in advance. The venue decides which posts are shown on its screens and is responsible for the content it approves. In particular, the venue:
    1. approves only a post it may publicly display on its premises and is responsible for having the necessary rights and consents (copyright, protection of a person's likeness under Sections 84 and 85 of the Czech Civil Code, data protection),
    2. does not approve photos of children or of identifiable people who clearly do not agree to being shown or are unaware of it,
    3. does not approve offensive, vulgar, hateful or violent content, sexual content or nudity, content promoting drugs, advertising (in particular advertising of alcohol or tobacco aimed at minors) or otherwise unlawful content,
    4. hides a post without delay as soon as its author or a person shown in it asks, or as soon as it learns the post falls under points a) to c),
    5. does not use posts or Instagram data outside the service, in particular does not copy them, publish them elsewhere, sell them or use them for advertising or profiling.
  4. Notice and takedown. Anyone, in particular the author of a post, a person shown in it or a rights holder, can report an inappropriate or unlawfully displayed post to support@jukedj.com, with the author's username and a link to the post, or the venue's name and the date. The operator takes the post off all screens without undue delay, deletes its data and informs the venue. After repeated justified reports, the operator may turn the venue's social wall off.
  5. Meta's terms. The venue complies with the Instagram Terms of Use, the Instagram Community Guidelines and, where they apply to it, the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. Instagram and Facebook are services of Meta. The operator is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Meta and is not responsible for the availability of its services and interfaces.
  6. Turning the social wall off. The operator may restrict or turn off a venue's social wall at any time with immediate effect and take individual posts down, in particular if Meta or a rights holder objects, Meta changes or ends the interface or access to it, or a breach of this section is suspected. This gives the venue no claims.
  7. Participation rules for guests. A guest (the author of a post) who, on the photo of an Instagram post, tags the account of a venue that has connected its own Instagram, or the @jukedj_official account and writes the night's code from the venue's screens into the caption (point 1):
    1. thereby asks for the post to be shown on that venue's screens and agrees that their photo (for a video only its preview), username, time and a shortened caption may be shown there that night,
    2. declares that they are the author of the photo or hold the necessary rights to it and that the people in the photo agree to being shown at the venue,
    3. acknowledges that they have no right to be shown. The venue need not approve the post and may hide it at any time, one author may have at most 3 posts on a venue's wall per night, and a caption with contact details or profanity is not shown,
    4. follows the rules in section 3 point 3 and the Instagram Community Guidelines,
    5. can ask at any time for the post to be taken off the screens, from the venue's staff or at support@jukedj.com. Deleting the post on Instagram or removing the tag may not take effect on the screens immediately. A post is shown at the latest until the end of the venue's night. Data processing is described in the Privacy Policy, section 3.3.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to run the service continuously but do not guarantee it will always be available and error-free. It can be affected by maintenance, the venue's internet connection, third-party services (Stripe, Google, Apple, Spotify, TIDAL, OneSignal, Meta) and circumstances beyond our control (force majeure). We may change, develop or discontinue features. We will announce material changes to paid features to DJs at least 30 days in advance where circumstances allow.

12. Limitation of the operator's liability

  1. The operator is not responsible for what the DJ or venue plays, for the content of guests' messages, TV messages and nicknames, for the content of Instagram posts, for the content of Google Maps reviews, or for third-party services.
  2. Towards DJs and venues the operator is liable only for actual damage and not for lost profit, lost revenue, data or goodwill, or indirect damage. The operator's total liability to one DJ or venue is limited to the amount they paid the operator in subscriptions, add-ons and fees in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the damage.
  3. Towards guests the operator is liable as provided by law. The limitations do not affect consumer rights that cannot be excluded by contract.
  4. No limitation applies to harm caused intentionally or by gross negligence or to harm to a person's natural rights (Section 2898 of the Czech Civil Code).

13. Termination

  1. A DJ can delete their account in the app at any time; see Deleting your account and data. Obligations that arose before deletion, in particular under sections 7 to 10 and 12, survive.
  2. The operator may restrict or end access for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms. DJs with a subscription are warned in advance where the nature of the breach allows. In serious cases, in particular fraud, access may be ended immediately.
  3. The operator may stop providing the service to DJs without giving reasons on 30 days' notice and will then refund the unused part of a prepaid period.

14. Changes, disputes and final provisions

  1. Changes. We may reasonably change these terms, in particular because of changes to the service, the law or partners' terms. We will publish the new version on this page and notify DJs by email or in the app at least 30 days in advance. A DJ who disagrees may close their account before the change takes effect; otherwise the change is deemed accepted. Guests are bound by the version in force when they send a request, message or payment.
  2. Complaints go to support@jukedj.com. We handle them without undue delay and within 30 days at the latest. Consumers can also use out-of-court dispute resolution with the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Prague 2.
  3. Governing law. These terms are governed by Czech law. Consumers abroad keep the protection of the law of their country of residence that cannot be excluded by contract. Disputes with DJs and venues are decided by the Czech courts with jurisdiction for the operator's registered office.
  4. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the rest remain in force and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one closest to its purpose.
  5. Communication is electronic, in particular by email to the address on the account or in the app. The Czech version of these terms prevails.
